Never Forget.

This day always hits me like a ton of bricks. It is a special day to pause, be silent, be present.  A day to mourn the painful and senseless loss of innocent life, a day to celebrate the freedom we have and a day to recognize the brave individuals that guard our ideals.

I love this quote by Mark Twain:  Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.

I believe this to be true. The more we travel and connect in an open way with people that are different from ourselves, the less prejudice and violence will permeate the world.  At the end of the day, that would be the ultimate gift to ourselves and the world.
